Joseph Sobrans Washington Watch |
Joe Sobran began writing his column for The Wanderer in 1986. Beginning with the April 3, 2003, column, the Washington Watch columns are archived on this website and are accessible from every page. His last Wanderer was published in the August 23, 2007 issue. Each column comes with features designed to be of convenience to our readers. To obtain a text-only version for printing, click on the Printer-friendly, text version button that follows the title of the column. The search engine that has been added to this site will search all Washington Watch column archives, beginning with the April 3, 2003, column, as well as articles on the main part of the SOBRANS website and in the other departments maintained on it. It does not search the columns on The Wanderers website. A form appears at the end of columns that enables users to e-mail a copy of the column without having to cut and paste it. Simply fill in the form and click Send it. The form accommodates multiple recipients: enter each e-mail address separated by a space. You must supply a return e-mail address for the form to work. Your recipients will receive an ASCII text copy of the column, not a URL. Neither The Wanderer nor SOBRANS will have any record of any e-mail address used by this form. In addition to listing columns that had already appeared on this website with permission and a few that are still hosted on The Wanderers website, we are also listing a number of older Washington Watch columns that appear on other peoples websites. We do not vouch for the accuracy or the completness of the transcriptions in those cases, and we do not even know whether the sites obtained the necessary permission to reprint them. We recommend that if you wish to obtain reprint rights for any of these columns, you approach The Wanderer directly. Readers can receive hard copies of Washington Watch columns by subscribing to the print edition of The Wanderer, Americas oldest Catholic newspaper. Subscriptions are $50 per year or $30 for six months. Send cheques to The Wanderer; 201 Ohio Street; Department JS; St. Paul, MN 55107. Or write for additional information. All columns are copyrighted by The Wanderer and may not be published in print or Internet media without the express permission of The Wanderer. Write the The Wanderer for reprint permissions. |
